PBS LiteracyLink is a project dedicated to providing quality adult basic education that is exciting, relevant, accessible, and flexible. It is a public broadcasting initiative which uses public television and the Internet to reach adults learners and adult literacy educators.

"Workplace Essential Skills" is a multi-media instructional package that teaches basic skills in reading, writing, communication, and math in a workplace context.

These skills include strategies and attitudes necessary to find, keep, and thrive in a job.

GED Connection

GED Connection is PBS LiteracyLink's flexible multimedia instructional series giving adult learners the skills and knowledge needed to prepare for and pass the newly revised GED exam.

The GED Connection series combines 39 video programs (broadcast by public television), workbooks and teacher materials, and Internet learning activities to make studying for the test exciting, engaging, and effective.

The Texas Education Agency purchased a statewide license for GED Connection. This allows unlimited off-air recording, unlimited duplication from a set of authorized master tapes, and substantial discount on series videotapes and workbooks from KET.

Weslaco Public Library has the series as part of their Literacy Library. (Loaner tapes might also available from Texas Center for Adult Literacy and Learning.)
